The Vein Institute was founded to care for patients with varicose vein disease. Using the latest and most innovative treatments from the USA and Europe means that The Vein Institute is able to offer surgery free treatments for patients with medical problems. As part of our commitment to treating varicose vein disease multiple clinics around Australia have been established.

Our Clinics Philosophy

Our philosophy is to offer walk in walk out treatments which are safer than traditional surgery, without the need for hospital admission or general anaesthetic. DR ZIL YASSINE - Medical Director

Dr Zil Yassine

Medical Director

Dr Zil Yassine (BA MBBS Uni. NSW, MA Harvard, Fellow (College of Phlebology UK) specialises in the non surgical treatment of varicose veins.  He completed training as a Specialist General Practitioner (FRACGP 2014) in Sydney before successfully completing the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine examinations that same year.  He has been a doctor for over 10 years and has performed thousands of venous interventions and gives talks on vein treatments at vascular surgeon conferences. Dr Yassine also holds the following degrees: Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Surgery (UNSW), Masters of Arts (Harvard University), Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound in Phlebology (ACP).

Dr Jane Li

Specialises in Vascular Imaging and Endovascular Surgery
She works as a staff specialist at Westmead Hospital and a specialist at The Vein Institute. Following three years of advance training in general surgery, she entered five years of radiology training with the view to combine the different skill sets in each specialty to be able to offer patients the best in minimally invasive procedures. She completed training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Westmead Hospital in Sydney as well as a one year Interventional Radiology fellowship at the Royal Free Hospital in London, UK. Her interest areas include varicose veins, DVT, peripheral vascular, pelvic vein and central venous disease treatments.

Christine is a Senior Interventional and Diagnostic Radiologist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Concord Repatriation General Hospital, Sydney Adventist Hospital and Breast Screen NSW. Christine has completed two years post-graduate fellowships in Interventional Radiology and Breast Imaging.
Christine has a special interest in Endovascular Surgery, Interventional Oncology, Interventional Radiology treatment for Women and Breast Imaging. Christine performs a wide range of venous procedures including treatment of Pelvic Congestion Syndrome, Varicocele, Varicose Veins and Vascular Malformations.
Christine is a clinical lecturer at the University of Sydney as well as University of New South Wales and an appointed International Medical Graduate assessor for The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists. Christine is also currently the Director of Training at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
