Dr Zil Yassine founded The Vein Institute in 2014 to redefine varicose vein treatment in Australia. Patients and their needs are at the heart of our business, so we strive to provide the best varicose veins care and treatment methods out there. What does that mean? It means high success rates with minimal discomfort, fast recovery, no hospital stay and happy, healthy patients.

Dr Zil Yassine

Medical Director

Dr Zil Yassine is a practising doctor of over 15 years and an expert in non-invasive varicose vein treatments.

Zil is dedicated and passionate about vascular health and staying up-to-date on the latest technology.

Providing patients with the best care is Zil’s number one priority. As the Medical Director of The Vein Institute, he’s responsible for training doctors to diagnose vein diseases and ensuring they perform treatments to the highest standard.

Dr Zil proudly holds a Bachelor of Medicine (UNSW), Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound in Phlebology (ACP), and is a fellow of FRACGP, F(Phleb UK).

Dr Carolyn Nizolek

Consultant Doctor

Dr Carolyn Nizolek works as a Consultant at The Vein Institute Melbourne clinic.

Dr Nizolek finished her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at University of Tasmania and has a Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Dr Nizolek is committed to providing the care and utmost service our patients at The Vein Institute deserve.

Dr Stella Tang

Consultant Doctor

Dr Stella Tang works as a consultant at The Vein Institute Sydney. She has been a doctor for more than 10 years. Her medical experience includes women’s health and antenatal, doing shared care for uncomplicated pregnancies since 2012.

Dr Tang has a Bachelor of Medicine/ Bachelor of Surgery in 2008 from University of Newcastle and Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2013.

Dr Stella believes that “medical care should always be comprehensive and provided in a safe, caring and professional manner.”

Dina Vinogradova

Vascular Sonographer

Dina works as a sonographer and medical assistant. Her work involves conducting ultrasound examinations of patients’ vascular systems, which she does at the initial consultation, treatment, and check-ups. Ultrasound helps determine the scope of a varicose vein, pinpoint additional branches, and determine the best treatment.

She studied Surgery and Ultrasound Diagnostics and did her residency in Moscow. Dina then worked in a specialised clinic for the treatment of vascular diseases of the lower extremities in Moscow.
“I love my job because I can see the real result of treatment – the disappearance of diseased veins after laser ablation and sclerotherapy. It’s great to see the happy faces of patients and to know that we helped them.”

Georjal Verykios

Nurse

Georjal is our Practice Nurse. She prepares the clinic for each EVLA, RFA, ClariVein, and Sclerotherapy treatment and assists our doctors during the varicose vein treatment process, ensuring everything runs seamlessly.

Georjal holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Sydney. Before coming to The Vein Institute, she worked in Operating Theatres as a surgical nurse and recovery/PACU nurse. Georjal also has training in cosmetic nursing.

Kimberley Polder

National Manager

Kimberley Polder is responsible for our growth strategy, resourcing talent, improving operations, and bringing out our expert care to cities across Australia. She has a Certificate in Business Administration – Health, a Diploma in Business, and is currently undertaking a Bachelor’s in Psychology.

Initially, she worked as an administrator within the operations team of a global gaming company. But as she always has an interest in Health Administration, she soon started working with a vascular diagnostic centre in Randwick in 2017. She started as a receptionist, which helped her understand what patients need. And soon, she was applying her skills and prior experience in a Practice Manager role.”Being part of a healthcare service that focuses on growth and development makes my role at The Vein Institute so rewarding.”

Margrit Fleck

Quality and Risk Manager

Margrit Fleck is the Quality and Risk Manager for The Vein Institute. She proudly holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Services Management from Charles Sturt University and also has qualifications in Quality and Risk Management, Clinical Governance, Root Cause Analysis, and more.

Her role is key to ensure the development and implementation of a comprehensive Quality & Risk Framework, incorporating both corporate and clinical quality, risk and policy.

She is responsible for coordinating processes to ensure that The Vein Institute achieves and maintains accreditation along with other standards relevant to support high quality, safe and effective delivery and patient care outcomes.

Elizabeth Atkinson

Patient Liaison Manager

As a PLM, Elizabeth is a key point of contact between patients and our medical team. She’s responsible for answering calls, booking appointments, and ensuring you have all the information you need about our varicose vein treatment processes and any documentation we’ll require from you.

Elizabeth has worked as a healthcare receptionist in the US and has 2 years of corporate logistics experience, specialising in pharmaceuticals. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies from the University of Mississippi.
